Ugolini Design

In 1983 Roberto Ugolini, mechanical engineering student, presented his graduation thesis based on a prototype of a motorcycle. This motorcycle was a complete revolution for the market, and the prototype was displayed in Milan EICMA show; the future Bimota Tesi was born. This was the first step towards the personal and company success, and in 1988 Ugolini Design was founded. In 1991 Ugolini design is one of the first design company able to manage internally the complete process of development of a new products, from the first idea till assistance during production. In the occasion of Milan International Design Management, in 1992, a selection of the products developed by Ugolini Design is displayed; the company is now starting to look to European market, and 2 years later Roberto Ugolini is invited to attend as a speaker to Department of Industrial Design of Hong-IK University of Seul. Few products designed by Ugolini Design are shown in the occasion of International Industrial Design Exhibition in Korea. Since them many national and international successes have been recognised to Ugolini Design: in 1996 the first award to International Tecnoll Design and 4 Grandesign awards are won. In 1997 Ugolini Design is selected by Finland company Kone , who indeed an international concourse to develop a new range of lifts, and in year 2000 the ADI Index Award "Compasso d’oro" was won.
