Gabriele Pezzini

Gabriele Pezzini was born on December 4th 1963 in Charleroi (Belgium). Thanks to his strong background in art, having studied first at Art school and then gone on to do ISIA,(the Institute of Industrial Design in Florence) he was drawn to the issues raised by design research. Interested in the problems relating to the process of industrialization, he joined the international design team of a French company Allibert in 1991, and for the same company later became Design Manager in charge of product strategy and co-ordinating the company image, working there until 1997. After leaving France, in 1999, he opened his own studio in Milan where his back on working in research project and spend many years on conception and organisation of exhibition that make deeper his analysis of the perception and contamination of the object in daily life . His designs aim to explore the relationship between the objects and all those who use them, so that his products have a fresh language and new meaning. He collaborate with Italian and International companies: Viabizzuno, Zeritalia, Wella, Bals Tokyo, Hermés. He has also taught as visiting Professor at the Ecole des Beaux Arts de Saint-Etienne (F), at Rhode Island School of Design in Providence (USA),and at the Milan Politecnico (I) From 2006 is consultant for Innovation Departement of Hermès and recently as been nominated Design Director inside to the General Artistic Direction of Hermès.
